Donald Knuth's The Art of Computer Programming is considered by most to be the seminal work on algorithms. Anyone who has been involved in computer science, programming, and even some within mathematics have heard of this work. As others have already written about the history of it.
I have heard that the series is a notoriously difficult set of books to read. Containing a lot of complex mathematics. Some even described it as arcane. But from what I've additionally heard is that for those who are able to digest it, the rewards are great. As Knuth himself admits, in the introduction of Volume 1, his work is meant to be of depth.
This blog is an attempt to help disseminate Knuth's books to an even wider audience. It will follow a summary of each chapter, a note on pre-requisite knowledge and where that might be found on the internet, and working through some of the problems throughout the chapter. I will be attempting to update this blog once a week as I work my way through the material.
